Though it doesn't hit 100% (do personality test's ever do??) and most of the time I feel like I'm in the middle on some options, it does paint a nice resemblance of me. Its like having your face painted like a MC Escher piece. Anyway this is what they say who I am..

I am...Independent Thinker (IT)

Independent Thinkers are analytical and witty persons. They are normally self-confident and do not let themselves get worked up by conflicts and criticism. They are very much aware of their own strengths and have no doubts about their abilities. People of this personality type are often very successful in their career as they have both competence and purposefulness. Independent Thinkers are excellent strategists; logic, systematics and theoretical considerations are their world (As far as I know, I am the worst strategist ever..) They are eager for knowledge and always endeavour to expand and perfect their knowledge in any area which is interesting for them. Abstract thinking comes naturally to them; scientists and computer specialists are often of this type (Hello IT world.. here I cometh!!)

Independent Thinkers are specialists in their area. The development of their ideas and visions is important to them; they love being as flexible as possible and, ideally, of being able to work alone because they often find it a strain having to make their complex trains of thought understandable to other people (This is just a nice way of insulting other people). Independent Thinkers cannot stand routine. Once they consider an idea to be good it is difficult to make them give it up; they pursue the implementation of that idea obstinately and persistently, also in the face of external opposition.

Independent Thinkers are not the type who easily comes out of his shell. Speaking about their emotional life is also not one of their strong points. Anyway, social relationships are not particularly important to them; they are happy with just a few, close friends who find it easy to share their intellectual world. They find it difficult to establish new ties. In love, they need a lot of space and independence but this does not mean that their partner is not important to them. Independent Thinkers often make a cool and reserved impression on others; but this impression is deceptive: they can hardly bear it if people close to them should reject them. (Love me.. Love me!!! Why dont you love me?!!) They prefer a harmonious, balanced relationship with a partner who shares their interests and with whom they can realise their visions.

These subjects could interest you
art, jazz, classical music, science fiction (really??), computer, drawing/painting, spiritual matters, meditation, handicraft, writing, strategic games (really really??), politics (hah.. full out lie there)

So there it is. My "Self" in just a few contextual phrases and tenses. Is it all bullshit? Well maybe. Is it all not bullshit? Not necessarily. At the end of the day, the ones that truly know my "Self" is my self. And I'm not even sure I know my self.

By the by, my partner is very so important to me. Lets just say, she know me better than anyone else will.

(all test text are taken from http://www.ipersonic.com/type/IT.html)

Save Malay Literature!!!

I just read an article at Sun2Surf on how national laureate, A. Samad Said feels about the decline of Malaysian literature. Among the things he talked about was on how books by national laureates will not be used in school by 2 years time. The reason for this is said to be because the education ministry thinks the books are "too hard" to understand. What the hell? They're literary books. They're not supposed to be simple. They're supposed to ignite curiosity and wonder. They're supposed to be hard in order to stimulate young minds. To think. To use imagination. If you give just simple mundane books, than were looking at the future of the nation who lack imagination and simple minded. A wide shot, but still.. things to consider don't you think? Given, i am not that much of an avid reader in my youth. Fortunately i grew out of that and now enjoy a good book now and again. But what about the next generation? Far for me to think that they'd follow the same path i did.

After reading the article, i kinda feel sorry for A.Samad Said. He worked all his life to make Malay Lit world known, but alas fail due to bureaucracy. When he said he'd "given up" on hoping for a change in malay literature, you kinda wished you'd read more in your youth.

Alas i hope all not is lost. They maybe a saving grace for malay literature and national laureates. As corny as it maybe, movies might save malay literature. Think about it, most of the known literature at some point or another has been made into movies. The Iliad, Jane Eyre, Dracula or even Lord Of The Rings for example. So rather than pushing pop culture-star ridden-rubbish dramadies and the such (search keyword:Prof A Razak Mohaideen), why not make movies on books, novels or poems by national laureates. Think about, you'd save a ton of time and the story would actually have MEANING!!! Plus you'd help the save the almost dead malay literature.

Come on man.. save malay literature! Read a (malay lit) book today!!

p/s: Case of irony though, talking about malay literature, but im saying it in english.
p/p/s: coincidently, the KL Book Fest is around the corner, and the Persatuan Pengiat Komik Malaysia (PeKOMIK) is promoting reading in an attempt (hopefully) to create the Longest Comic. The theme of the comic is.. wait for it... READING!

Mari Mari Memilih

Pilihan raya muncul lagi.

Kalau orang tu dah nak undi parti lain, tak gune juge.

Nanti time habis pilihanraya, siapa pula nak turunkan bendera-bendera, poster-poster ni? Tak ada la pulak. Lepas tu jadilah semak mata. Lalu jadi sampah sarap. Dah next pilihanraya pon belum tentu turun lagi bendera-bendera tu.

X perlu lah ye promosi-promosi ni.
